I started this blog mainly to put our lyrics all in one spot so the boys and girls auditioning for lead singer could get the stuff down before their big stage debut. The audition is live, in front of a hostile audience of hoodlums, prostitutes and drunken savages. Rob Ruckus will emcee (you’ve probably seen him on TV, he’s quite the celebrity these days), and will personally and decisively take care of anyone who tries to molest you, so no worries there.
This event happens on Friday, June 5th at the Dive Bar in Las Vegas.
A YouTube link is at the bottom of each lyric page, so that makes it easy! Oh, except for The Amazing Gamma Girl, which never made it to the CD. That was one of my favorite songs, and the producer screwed it up so bad that it couldn’t be used. Let me just say right here that I’m not at all happy with how the CD came out. It was recorded in 1994 when some really good-sounding recordings were made, so there’s no excuse except for the fact that my left arm was in a cast at the time, making it rather unwieldy to play guitar. Add to that the thin production and mastering…aw hell. Just play it really loud; it sounds better that way.
You’ll be required to sing Pussycat Laundromat, which has become sort of our theme song for some reason. Then learn at least two more songs to sing during the show.
If you’re of the perpetually outraged crowd and can’t tolerate a sense of humor, well, this may not be for you. We don’t walk on eggshells and we don’t go out of our way to present a scene of phony decorum so as not to make some pansy pajama boy uncomfortable. We’re here to have fun, and that’s really all there is to it. Relax, grab the mic and let ‘er rip.
Godspeed and cheers!
